How it Works

This course is not a computer based training course (CBT). It has been designed to combine elements of self study and facilitator led on-line tuition.

Self Study

In the case of APICS or SAPICS courses the student will receive printed materials specified and recommended by SAPICS / APICS. These materials will be referred to during on-line participation and will also be used for on-line Discussion Forums and evaluations.

Courses such as the Center for Logistics Excellence Supply Chain Management course are a fully web enabled course and all material is available to the student online. Printed materials may be purchased additionally.

On-line

The course will follow the curriculum and the materials specified by the courseware provider.
Upon confirmation of order and payment:

• The learner will be assigned a username, password and an enrollment key.
• This will enable the learner to enter the mySCM Education Portal and attain access to the course or courses registered.

A Time Line will be provided to ensure that learners are ready in time to write the APICS or SAPICS exam.

This Time Line is designed to:
• Pace the learners so that they are assured of completing the curriculum on time for exams.
• Contain dates for submission of evaluations
• Dates for the on-line discussion sessions
• Dates of the on-line Discussion Forum.
• It will consist of an on-line discussion sessions (Minimum of 5) for a 10 week module. These sessions will be facilitator led and done on a group basis so that the learning experience includes the views of the class.
• Learners will be required to contribute to (Minimum of 3) topical discussion forums where each learner will post her or his answers to the questions posed by the Facilitator on the forum. The opening and closing dates for each Discussion Forum will be contained in the Time Line.
• At the end of each chapter an assessment quiz for self evaluation will be made available. The learner will receive immediate feedback after the completion of the assessment.
• It will also consist of a minimum of a two hour on-line revision session one week prior to the exam.
• The learner will have access to the facilitator via e-mail, telephone, instant messenger and scheduled one-to-one classes at all times. The facilitator may at her/his discretion invite the learner onto an on-line session should it be deemed necessary.
